Speaking of bridges, the final 5 clicks of yesterday's race was
super screwed up.
What the hell were the organizers thinking when they decided to
converge all the three races together within two lanes of the ECP?
And at the Benjamin Sheares Bridge, no less!
By that point, with only 5km left to go, everyone was already
shot to pieces. Those who still wanted to run had to perform
evasive maneuvers through the masses of people who were just too
messed up to continue running.
The AHM may have been conducted at the bridge, but at least that
was for only one category, and the bridge portion was near the
start of the run when everyone was still fresh and could still
charge up the bridge.
Man, the organizers sure screwed that portion up.
they're obviously not runners...i mean if you want to put a
bridge/upslope...have it early on, not towards the end when
everyone is wiped out! well, at least the guys who designed the AHM
had some sense.
and this is what i overhead in the gym this morning: "yeah,
every year i WALK the scsm...sunday romantic walk"
look, i don't really have an issue with people walking...but if
you're gonna sign up for a run, please train for it. i've even seen
folks walking from the gun off in a 21k.
